World Mental Health Day

10th October

Good mental health is a state of wellbeing that allows a person to grow and thrive.

According to WHO, depression is a leading cause of disability in the world today. Depression affects one’s mood, causing different emotional, cognitive, social, and physical implications. While not every depressive person is suicidal, most people who commit suicide are suffering from depression.

There is help available for dealing with this and other mental health problems, but many people challenged by mental illness end up suffering alone either because they do not recognise the symptoms or they are ashamed or afraid they are going to be judged by their social surroundings.
